Youth Pickleball Coach

Help kids build confidence, teamwork, and life skills while coaching the fastest-growing sport in America.

📍 Tucson, Arizona

🕒 Part-Time

💰 Paid Position - $25 - $30 / Session

Why This Role Matters

Every afternoon, kids walk onto our courts with different personalities, abilities, and confidence levels. Some are natural athletes. Some have never held a paddle before. Others simply need a place where they feel included.

As a Ready Set Pickle coach, your job isn’t just teaching pickleball. It’s helping kids discover confidence, learn teamwork, overcome challenges, and enjoy being active in a positive environment.

The skills we teach go far beyond the court—and you’ll play an important role in helping shape that experience.

What You’ll Do

As a Youth Pickleball Coach, you’ll play an important role in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment where kids can learn, grow, and enjoy the game of pickleball. Every session is an opportunity to encourage confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship while helping students develop new skills on and off the court.

Coach & Mentor

  • Lead or assist afterschool pickleball classes, clinics, camps, and community programs.

  • Teach beginner-friendly pickleball skills, including grip, ready position, serving, rallying, footwork, scoring, and game play.

  • Encourage teamwork, confidence, and positive sportsmanship through every activity.

  • Adapt instruction to support students with different personalities, skill levels, and learning styles.

Create an Outstanding Experience

  • Keep students engaged through age-appropriate drills, games, and challenges.

  • Foster a positive, welcoming environment where every child feels included and encouraged.

  • Build strong relationships with students while maintaining a structured and respectful learning environment.

Be a Leader

  • Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to coach.

  • Set up and organize equipment before each session and assist with cleanup afterward.

  • Follow all Ready Set Pickle coaching standards, child safety policies, and program procedures.

  • Communicate professionally with fellow coaches, school staff, facility partners, parents, and the Ready Set Pickle leadership team.

Every practice is about more than teaching pickleball. It’s about creating an experience that students look forward to each week and one that parents trust.

You’ll Thrive Here If…

We’re looking for great people first and pickleball coaches second.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Genuinely enjoy working with kids.

  • Are positive, patient, and encouraging.

  • Can confidently lead and manage a group of children.

  • Are dependable, professional, and punctual.

  • Enjoy being active and bringing energy to every session.

  • Communicate clearly with kids, parents, and fellow coaches.

  • Care about creating a safe, welcoming environment where every child feels included.

  • Want to make a lasting impact in your community.

Don’t Know Pickleball Yet?

That’s completely okay.

Many great youth coaches begin with little or no pickleball experience. If you’re passionate about working with kids, we’ll teach you the game, our curriculum, and the coaching techniques that make our programs successful.

We can teach pickleball.

We can’t teach someone to genuinely care about kids—that’s the quality we’re looking for most.
