Why This Role Matters
Ready Set Pickle is growing across schools, community centers, and local pickleball facilities throughout Tucson, Oro Valley, and Marana.
Our coaches do more than teach pickleball. They help kids build confidence, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and a positive relationship with being active.
This role is for people who are ready to lead or meaningfully support youth programs. You do not need to be a professional pickleball player, but you should bring real experience in at least one of the following areas: coaching, teaching, childcare, camp leadership, youth programming, athletics, pickleball, tennis, or another racquet sport.
We provide lesson plans, equipment, and training. We need coaches who can show up prepared, manage kids safely, and represent Ready Set Pickle well.
What You’ll Do
As a Youth Pickleball Coach, you’ll lead or support structured youth pickleball sessions for elementary and middle school students. Every session should be safe, organized, active, and fun while helping students grow both on and off the court.
Coach & Mentor
Lead or meaningfully support afterschool pickleball classes, clinics, camps, and community programs.
Teach beginner-friendly pickleball skills, including grip, ready position, serving, rallying, footwork, scoring, and game play.
Encourage teamwork, confidence, and positive sportsmanship through every activity.
Adapt instruction to support students with different personalities, skill levels, and learning styles.
Create an Outstanding Experience
Keep students engaged through age-appropriate drills, games, and challenges.
Foster a positive, welcoming environment where every child feels included and encouraged.
Build strong relationships with students while maintaining a structured and respectful learning environment.
Be a Leader
Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to coach.
Set up and organize equipment before each session and assist with cleanup afterward.
Follow all Ready Set Pickle coaching standards, child safety policies, and program procedures.
Communicate professionally with fellow coaches, school staff, facility partners, parents, and the Ready Set Pickle leadership team.
Every practice is about more than teaching pickleball. It’s about creating an experience that students look forward to each week and one that parents trust.
You’ll Thrive Here If…
We’re looking for great people who can become strong youth coaches.
You’ll be a great fit if you:
Have experience coaching, teaching, mentoring, caring for, or leading children.
Have pickleball, tennis, racquet-sport, athletic, camp, or youth-program experience.
Genuinely enjoy working with kids.
Can confidently lead, organize, or support a group of children.
Are positive, patient, dependable, and professional.
Communicate clearly with kids, parents, school staff, facility partners, and other coaches.
Are comfortable being active indoors and outdoors.
Can follow Ready Set Pickle lesson plans, safety standards, and coaching expectations.
Care about creating a safe, welcoming environment where every child feels included.
